My name is Alex Varran, and I am a final year Joint Honours undergraduate in Sport and Environmental Studies. I have represented the University of Hertfordshire in the Athletic Union Tennis Club and have been on the committee for some of Hertfordshire Students' Union's charity projects including Operation Christmas Child and READ. I love travelling and spent my sandwich year studying abroad in Long Beach, California. Aside from my degree, I work as a multi sports coach within local schools and the community. I'm enthusiastic about providing equal opportunities for every member of the student body here at the University of Hertfordshire.

 

Why I’m standing 

I am standing as Vice President Education and Welfare so that I can have a positive impact on student life at the University of Hertfordshire. I want to improve student support, and organise student led campaigns on issues that you feel passionate about. Within this role I have the opportunity to improve both the academic and non-academic sides of the university, therefore enabling students to benefit in all areas of student life.
