Brad Johnson

#1 VP Communications & Media

I’m Brad Johnson, currently your elected Student Trustee, Raise & Give Chair and Deputy Print Editor of Hertfordshire Students’ Union. I am currently in my final year at the Hertfordshire Business School studying Marketing with Event Management. I have been involved with the Students’ Union since my first year.

Why I’m standing

I feel like now is my time to make a direct impact on the Students’ Union and use my experience within the Union to make a positive impact to the student experience of University of Hertfordshire students. I feel that through my experience of marketing and my direct work within Trident Media, the Union’s media outlet.

I Promise to . . .

Campus community spirit for all

Work with the VP Student Activities to develop the university community relationships between home, college, mature and international students on and off campus, whether they are from the UK or abroad.

Get Hertfordshire going mobile

I believe that it would be useful to develop a mobile application that syncs all University, Athletic Union and Students’ Union events. This application would combine calendars and would send students relevant push notifications for messages and module updates, ensuring that they are kept informed and don’t miss anything.

More conferences come to Hertfordshire

Following Hertfordshire Students’ Union hosting the Student Radio Association National Conference, I believe that it is important to show how fantastic the University of Hertfordshire to lots of other Students’ Unions around the country, by welcoming them to Hertfordshire for the annual National Conference.

Strengthen Trident Media

Following the fantastic rebrand of UHSU Media to Trident Media, it is now time to get Trident Media out there to the wider local and university community. Through partnerships with colleges, continued support of the media exec committees and the growth of membership.

Understanding the needs of our customers

By understanding the customer’s needs and the trends with the market, the Forum Hertfordshire can remain sustainable and continue supporting Hertfordshire Students’ Union.

Why Vote for Me?

I have been dedicated to the SU since my first year and I am committed to working with the other officers in continually improving it into 2016. I feel my experience and committment to the union would make me a fantastic VP Communications & Media for the next academic year.
