I am a 3rd year Law student and active within my school, co-curricular activities and Hertfordshire Students’ Union. I am outgoing and enjoy new experiences; I am a Part-time Elected Officer, an NUS Delegate and SSRO. I was elected as a student representative to the Academic Board at a Student Ideas Forum and appointed Treasurer of Raise and Give.

 

Why I’m standing 

I am a firm believer in active representation and its ability to improve Hertfordshire Students’ Unions services. I understand that to meet the expectations of our University’s diverse student body we need to adapt to students needs and wants.

Engaged Representation

I will work on the greatly improved Student Representation scheme to ensure you are getting strong course representation with dedicated representatives. I want to continue and improve upon the support and training Student Reps receive and also like to implement an alternative credited certificate for those who participate in the scheme.

 

Transport: UnoBus and Parking

I will work with UnoBus to ensure they continue to improve the service around the needs of students. I want to see continued improvements to the reliability of the Park and Ride, especially at peak times, and will conduct a full investigation into the parking situation at our university, as student parking is a big issue for commuters.

 

Improving The Forum

I will conduct a full review of the Forum Hertfordshire, including the student viewpoint, customer data and trends in the market. I would like to see more student input when club events are planned and increase scrutiny from the student body. I will work with the bars team to ensure drinks offers are relevant and clear to students.

 

New Halls, New Improvements

I will hold the University accountable with regards to the new halls and their current improvement plans for the University. I will ensure your views and feedback are being listened to and keep the pressure on to ensure the new halls are up to standard and actual value for money.

 

Accountable Officers

I plan to continue the work of my predecessor, by improving the methods of how you are informed what my team are doing, how they are representing you and ensure they are being held accountable. This will include a re-evaluation of Student Ideas Forum and working closely to the VP of Communications and Media.
